Bogiez Relaunch Success!

Bogiez Relaunch Success!

Wow… WHAT A NIGHT!

We were utterly blown away by the opening night at Millennium Music Hall (MMH) and the extremely positive feedback we received during and after the night! So many positive words from the Bogiez masses, we’re really chuffed that so many people enjoyed it as much as they did!

The beer did flow and the dancefloor did shake (literally)! The sheer force of the masses truly shook the building to its very foundations!

As far as Bogiez nights go that one is certainly going down in the rock club history books!

Equally important as the masses of praise are the words from people whom have let us know about things they didn’t like so much. Thankfully, most of these things are nominal and can be addressed really easily. We’ll be working very hard running up to the next Bogiez to ensure they are sorted for the next big night (and what a night the next Bogiez will be – read below!)

We’d also like to thank our OFFICIAL pre-Bogiez watering hole, The Queens Vaults, whom have been working with us to serve you in a suitably METAL fashion prior to your arrival at Bogiez. We’ll be working with them further to get you nicely warmed up prior to every Bogiez!

Next up of course is our sure-to-be insane Halloween Bash, taking place for the very first time on Halloween night itself, Saturday 31st October.

We are extremely excited about this (as we’re every year!) as this is of course one of the biggest Bogiez nights of the year!

Those who have graced Bogiez with their presence on Halloween before know what a legendary event it truly is and this year we hope to make it somewhat more EPIC!!

We’ll be moving upstairs at Millennium Music Hall to the bigger room for this event to cope with the mighty forces of darkness that are sure to descend upon us on this night.

Entry is of course the same £4 – The doors will be flinging open at 10pm then slamming shut at 4am. We’ll have the same killer bar deals we had on the relaunch night (now available at every Bogiez) with some suitably spooky additions, and, as every year, we have some terribly naughty surprises lined up.

Costumes are STRONGLY advised but are of course not compulsory!

That’s all for now! Get your costumes ready for Saturday 31st October; This rock club is about to go utterly evil!

Farewell to The Venue

farewell to the venue

As I’m sure many recall Bogiez was forced to relocate earlier this year due to the closure of The Point music venue. Though our move occurred rapidly, it wasn’t without a few hiccups along the way.

After careful negotiations with several venues, we settled on what is our current home ‘The Venue’.

Over the past few weeks there have been some major developments on the Cardiff live music and club venue scene and as Bogiez has always aimed to deliver the very best it can on every front, we have been re-evaluating the options that are available to us.

To cut a long story short, Bogiez will be leaving The Venue and moving to a brand new home in October.

There are a few reasons for this. Primarily, the move comes simply because we have been offered a better arrangement at the new location. The Venue is a great building for clubs and it has held Bogiez well but in order for us to offer more of what we have in store, a new location is required.

Suffice to say there have been several lengthy meetings with our soon-to-be new home and we feel that by moving, we cement the future of Bogiez both in the short and long term, and allow the club to continue to evolve as Cardiff’s leading rock club much greater than our current location can permit.

Our last date at The Venue will be October 3rd. We will be recommencing our normal 1st, 3rd (and occasional 5th) Saturday mayhem (and kicking it up one hell of a notch!) at our new venue on the 17th October.

I’d personally like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made our stay at The Venue as amazing as it has been. The Venue is of course a killer building and it has provided us with a great (and sadly temporary) location for the last 6 months. We aren’t cutting ties with our friends there; on the contrary, we will hopefully be working with them again in the near future on a few different projects.

So where are we moving to?

As was revealed at Bogiez on Saturday (19th September), we will be hauling ass over to a brand new multiple room club over in the Millennium Plaza. Our new home will be within the Millennium Music Hall, in the Millennium Plaza (Wood Street, opposite Central Bus/Train station, next door to Vue cinema). Right on the outskirts of town, still a perfect distance from the hordes within its centre.

You might remember the building as being the location of Bar Risa, Jongleurs comedy club, Jumpin’ Jacks and Surfers. Each of these clubs has closed down over time and three of these rooms have been taken over and will be reopening in October.

We have identified several things that haven’t worked out quite as well as we’d have liked at Venue and rest assured these things have been sorted at our new home.

We hope that everyone will show us the same level of support that we received when we had to move from The Point and join us for some truly hard rockin’ mayhem of epic proportions at the Millennium Music Hall.

Opening times (10pm ’til 4am) and Entry price (£4.00) stay exactly the same. We have also worked with Millennium Music Hall to bring some absolutely awesome bar deals (far beyond what you saw at The Point and at Venue).

That’s it for now. Don’t forget, our last date at The Venue will be Saturday 3rd October – Join us for our last night at what has been a very cool venue!
